 WELCOME!

You can call me Izzy! This is my blog where I document my care of all of my Tamagotchis and document each day while also managing my other virtual pets. Think of this like jvgsjeff of the Animal Crossing community, his channel and blogs except with virtual pets because I always come back to Tamagotchis. Some Tamagotchis in my collections are throughout the years and it wasn't until 2023 that I really started collecting and laying with them. I'll start with how I started with Tamagotchis.

Discovery

I have a different introduction to the virtual pets when I first discovered about them. It wasn't like a friend told me about them or I found them by rummaging through the attic and found them in a box in a dark corner. My introduction to Tamagotchis started with a creepypasta reading on YouTube. I am a huge horror fan and I love reading creepypastas that people have created. I was searching for something to listen to when I came across a Tamagotchi creepypasta reading called "Don't Put It Down" read by SomeOrdinaryGamers or SOG for short. Anyway, I clicked on the video and it had gameplay of the first Tamagotchi Gameboy game while SOG reads the story. I thought it looks interesting, so I requested the game for my birthday and I got the game which I was excited about. I wasn't good at taking care of them, however, because I kept feeding them snacks as I didn't know how else to raise their happiness meter.

Now this was when I got my first re-release of the P1/Gen 1 Tamagotchi. It is my second oldest Tamagotchi in my collection. Story behind this is that I wanted a dog but I couldn't have one cause I had a couple of cats. So my Tamagotchi became an emotional support outlet for me. I got this one at Barnes and Noble when I was in high school. I brought it to class with me one day and after that, I was told I had to either leave it in my locker or leave it at home. So I left it in my locker, which caused me to end up with a bad care Tamagotchi. I went to check on it in between classes and was surprised. I put it out of its misery by hitting the reset button on the back and started over. I have had a lot of Tama deaths either from giving them too much candy, forgetting to feed and play with them, old age, or on Gameboy, a glitch that temporarily wipes my save file but when turned back on and off, the save file files reappears. I still can't figure out why this happened twice now, but I'll figure it out someday. 

My First Tamagotchi Nano

A few years back, I found a Tamagotchi Nano for the first time. I didn't know what a nano was back then and now I know that it is a simplified Tamagotchi based around a series. My first one is a Hello Kitty nano. I did not know what a Tamagotchi nano was back then when I first got it but I learned what it was thanks to the people of the Tamagotchi subreddit Discord server after a general discussion on Tamagotchis. Those people on the server are amazing and super helpful! 

Why Am I Doing This Blog?

Because I wanted a hobby where I can share my love of Tamagotchis to everyone in the Tamagotchi community. If you came across this at random, congrats! Welcome to my chaotic world that is this blog!
